Job Overview:
We are looking for a young and motivated Legal and Compliance Assistant to support our legal and compliance teams in ensuring the organization meets all legal requirements and internal policies. This role requires an individual with a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and a solid understanding of legal and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting with legal research, maintaining compliance documentation, and supporting various administrative tasks related to legal and compliance matters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Legal Support:
- Assist the legal team with legal research, document preparation, and contract management.
- Draft and review legal documents, including contracts, agreements, and memoranda.
- Maintain and organize legal files, records, and databases.
- Coordinate with external legal counsel for document review, litigation, or regulatory matters.
- Compliance Support:
- Ensure that the organization complies with local laws, regulations, and internal policies.
- Assist in implementing and maintaining compliance programs and company policies.
- Conduct research on regulatory requirements and best practices.
- Support the compliance team in monitoring and tracking regulatory developments that affect the business.
- Reporting & Documentation:
- Prepare and maintain reports for compliance audits, inspections, and internal reviews.
- Assist with the creation and distribution of compliance-related training materials for staff.
- Maintain up-to-date records of all compliance activities, certifications, and reports.
- Internal Liaison:
- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Act as a point of contact for employees seeking guidance on compliance policies or procedures.
- Administrative Support:
- Provide general administrative support to the legal and compliance departments, including scheduling meetings, taking minutes, and coordinating travel arrangements.
- Assist in managing legal and compliance-related invoices and expenses.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Law, Compliance, or related fields.
- 1-3 years of experience working in a legal or compliance role, preferably in Brazil.
- Knowledge of Brazilian legal and compliance frameworks.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Portuguese and English.
- Ability to work independently and handle confidential information with discretion.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in the corporate legal or compliance departments of a multinational company.
- Knowledge of regulatory issues in specific industries (e.g., finance, healthcare, or technology).
- Familiarity with legal and compliance software tools.
